"sláinte"  means in the Irish language "health". Celtic and healthy - but definitely lively and fresh - is also the music of the group .

The band, which has been playing in various line-ups since the early 1980s, is very much in the Irish tradition, even if today they have added their own compositions and some music from other countries. The declared aim of the sláinte musicians is not a museum-like celebration of old folk music, but an exploration of a living tradition and, above all, a lot of fun in keeping with the Irish proverb ‘There are musicians and there are dancers’. In addition to the well-known jigs and reels, the repertoire also includes polkas and slides, all music that won't let your feet rest for a moment. There are also all kinds of melancholy ballads, rebellious songs and surprising covers.

The almost proverbial joy of playing of sláinte remains irrepressible - as fresh as well-tapped Guinness!
